PC is sending me a replacement Cricut, mine isn't workin

My Cricut Exp. isn't working right. PC is sending me a new one after I return my current Cricut. I am worried that the new Cricut will not be compatible with SCAL. Do we know for sure that we cannot update our Cricuts? I would rather keep the machine that leaves little skin tags then get a new machine that doesn't work with SCAL. I wish I could afford to replace my Cricut with a Black Cat Cougar, but I can't...someday.

I'm certainly no expert, but I would think that a new Cricut machine will not work with SCAL. That is what I understand from all that has gone on with this lawsuit. BTW, I see that Michaels, in conjunction with Provocraft, is offering a buy one-get one free cartridge deal. I think that new cartridges will disable SCAL. Is this correct?

Hmm...I'd have to agree with Jane on this one. If I were you I'd be VERY hesitatant on 'returning' my cricut for a new one. PC seems to be out to get us and I wouldn't be surprised if your replacement wasn't compatable with SCAL. It might help to do a bit more research on this--just to be sure--but these are my thoughts. Don't know why PC has to be so darn stubborn about SCAL.

Thanks for your help. I got a refurbished cricut back from provocraft...it still works with SCAL and it still leaves the little skin tags . what a waste of time. I am now thinking of getting a craft robo pro...does anyone know if it works with SCAL? I know the previous craft robo's do, I just want to make sure the pro does.

Would you be able to post a picture of the "skin tags?" I'm curious to see what they look like. It seems strange that both of your Cricuts would do this.
