Butterfly Dingbats????

Post by lowcarbgirl »

There are as set of beautiful Butterfly dingbats.... frame type with flowers etc. When I down load the font they are just butterflies - no frames - no flowers.

Does anyone know if there is really such a set of dingbats that when you download them they are really the frame with the butterfly and flowers????

Here is the link to the dingbat that I want.

When I download this dingbat and then install it into my computer or open it from the zip file - it is only single butterflies - without the frame or folage that you see with it.

I love the frame and want to cut the frame with the folage and butterflies for card fronts.

I tried it & didn't have any problems with the frames showing up in inkscape. I don't have SCAL yet, so can't look at it that way for you.

do you have another font that is similar in name to that one that you might be opening instead of this one?

try unzipping the file & loading it somewhere on your computer to see if it works for you that way.

I think I finally got it - I have a dingbat already called butterflies..... I guess I can't have 2 fonts by the same name. I deleted the one that I had and then down loaded the one that I really wanted... now it is okay.

Thanks.

Next question - does anyone know how to rename a downloaded dingbat/font file so that I can have more than one file named butterflies.

There are two different files both called "Butterflies" but my computer thinks they are both the same and they are not.

I have tried to rename one of them so I can have both but I am told I can not change it.

Any help would be appreciated.

These are the two files I want but can't have both because when I open the zip files they both have the exact same name.

I don't think you can just rename a font, but I'm not positive. I recall reading somewhere before that you need a program to rename a font. someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I know I've tried countless times to rename abug'slife font so I can use it in inkscape, but it doesn't work.

you could save the ones with similar names to different folders & it should let you save them that way.

I have duplicated fonts on my computer, but don't know why it won't work for you---some help I am, huh?
