What file types can you import?

What file types can you import?

I just watched the video tutorial on the "trace image" function. He never specified what file types can be used. Can you only use jpegs and gifs? What about png files?

.png's open too, I believe...but maybe take a couple traces with different settings to get everything...I think I have noticed.
