Sap buckets?

Post by scrappinvt »

Does anyone know where I could find a file for a sap bucket. Or even buy one?

Here is a photo of what they look like. I did a search here for sap bucket, but no luck. Thanks for any help.

I tried my hand at it, but I'm not thrilled with the way they came out. If you can use them, great. If not, maybe someone with better skills will come along or maybe you can edit them to your liking.

Your file came out quite nice pastda3. I'm not sure what a sap bucket even is, I'm assuming it collects sap from a tree? I'm from CA and I don't think we have that here...we barely have trees!

It collects maple syrup from a maple tree in order to collect maple sugar.. Hubby and I have a huge maple tree in our back yard and once the temps are stable plan to collect maple from it.. :D..

Sounds very cool. How long doesn it take for the sap to come out of a tree? Can you actually watch it come out? Geez, the things I miss out on by living on the west coast. Guess you can't get sap from a palm tree? I do have one of those in my yard.

Actually depending on the weather is how long it will take to get the sap.. It doesn't drain the whole tree.. You take as much as you need and then you put a plug in the tree so the spot heals over. If hubby and I decide to do our maple tree this will be the first year.. The days have to be mild and the nights cool.. We know when ours is ready to tap when the sap runs outside the tree bark..
