Question RE: Mac vs. Windows

Post by (jecheck) »

My dad is getting my mom a Mac for Christmas, and I am wanting to buy her SCAL. Her other computer is a PC... I am debating on getting her the PC version and have her run it from the Windows OS on the Mac or just on the Mac OS. Does anyone have any experience with running the Windows version on a Mac under the Windows OS? Would you recommend Windows vs. Mac?

Also, anyone know of any current discounts on SCAL?

TIA, Jennifer

Hi, I have a Mac running SCAL in native mode. In order to run the windows version on a Mac you would have to buy another program to emulate a win. I would not recommend it. Perhaps someone who has done it will come along with some experience with it.

Papasue - from what my dad has told me (and based on his current mac) - he is already planning on putting on the Windows OS/OS emulator... thanks for the input :D

Joanne - thanks! I had not checked any prices yet  , so that's good!

I use a MAC for work and I love it. I use a PC at home for SCAL and I love it.

If you have a mac, buy and support the mac native version. There is no need to take the penalty of running off an emulator if you don't have to.

I have a mac and love it. Over all Scal seems to have less problems on a mac. Stay with mac platform you won't be sorry.
