HELP with cutting SVG files

Post by zinopower »

I really hope someone can help me on here, I'm going Crazy!!!! I always have a hard time finding the right picture to use for my scrapbooks and cards so I signed up for a $80 year subscription to iclipart.com to get SVG files to cut out using Sure cuts alot and my cicut. I downloaded two tugboats. The problem is the picture looks beautiful and exactly what I want, but the cricut is cutting lines that are not on the screen. I went into inkscape (which I don't know a lot about) and viewed the outline image and everything looks great, but cricut is cutting lines I don't see. Can you help me...PLEASE!!!! I am including the tugboat in this email for you to look at for yourself. This is a SVG file, so why am I having trouble with it cutting extra lines??? Did I waste my $80 Christmas present or can I make these SVG's work somehow I don't know about???? Thank you for your help and advice. I'm sick about this!!!!

Tamara~

You need to connect the lines. They aren't connected.

I'd really would love to but I only have SCAL 1. I know how to in Inkscape .46. There are lot's of really good people on this blog and think one of them will be willing to help. Sorry I don't have SCAL 2. Good luck. Oh yes on how I saw the broken lines I colored it with the preview option. If they had all been connected you would be able to see a complete colored tugboat and not a lot of colored pieces like that.
