What is the difference between the cuttle bug and sixxix? Which one is better? Can the templates be inter change able?

They are both quality products. Yes, Everything is interchangeable, However the Sizzix base is larger and you can emboss larger items.
Hope that helps,

Re: cuttle bug sizzix
I have had the cuttlebug for couple years now and love it. And I often use other brand dies and embossing folders. They do now have extending plates for the cuttlebug. What I don't understand is why PC never came out with a slightly larger version of the cuttlebug machine. Something a few inches wider would be great.
Never have tried it my myself, but I have read where folks have used cuttlebug embossing folders with a pasta machine. I am surprised no one has ever came out with an embossing machine sort of like a pasta machine with interchangeable textured rollers that you can roll a sheet of paper straight through. Sort of like you do with a hand held paper crimper.

I used the pasta machine with embossing folders before I got a cuttlebug. It works, but the embossing is much sharper with the die cut machines. The Xyron Creatopia has a roller system for embossing, was hoping to see it in action at the Maker Faire, but it was pretty much just sitting on the table not being used.

After I read your post, I went and watched a couple videos of the Xyron Creatopia in action. It looks like a very cool machine. Loved how they ran a wooden picture frame through the machine to apply adhesive on it. In the videos I watched, I only saw them use embossing rollers a couple inches wide mostly on the edges of paper. Do they have any wider full-size rollers that let you emboss larger sheets of paper with one pass through the machine?HeatherM wrote:The Xyron Creatopia has a roller system for embossing, was hoping to see it in action at the Maker Faire, but it was pretty much just sitting on the table not being used.
Thank you,

I didn't think that they did, but I just looked online and they do. A little pricey though at $16-25 each. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=c ... 0e79ec6c32
Once the brick and mortar stores start selling them the prices hopefully will go down.

Re: cuttle bug sizzix
I have the Sizzix and use it a lot. Spellbinders Nestabilies, Cuttlebug and Accucut products all work well in the Sizzix machine. One of the things I really like about the Sizzix is the platform that came with my machine. It has layers that you can flip so that you get the right height for the dies or stencils so you don't have to use paper shims like you do with other machines.

Re: cuttle bug sizzix
PC calls them 5x7, but the area that is embossed is actually less than 4.75x6.5 inches. I understand the width, but why is the length so much shorter than the folder? That is one of the things I like better about the Sizzix folders-their A2 folders emboss a bigger area than the Cuttlebug A2 does.Sweetness4713 wrote:Actually cuttlebug also has larger embossing folders you can purchase now. .Michaels has them..
