He must not wear bifocals like I do. I have to take them off to be able to see anything up close, like threading a needle.

That is just pure Magnificent.I knew I read it over there some where and believe it or not here is a quote from some one who met him
My husband and I met him during a signing at the New Britain Museum of American Art (in CT). He's a really nice guy, down to earth and with a great sense of humor. He never uses magnification for his work, which blew me away. Also, he said he will never sell any of his art to private collectors because he wants to make sure it can always be enjoyed by everyone in museums. I highly recommend seeing his work if you ever get the chance!!
