SVG file failed to load and I am on a MAC

I just recently uploaded SCAL and have cut out a few svg files. I wanted to cut some of the nesties from Penny Duncan

Everytime tried to load it says failed. Not sure if it has to do with a MAC or not. Can you help me figure out what the problem may be?

Do you have the most recent version of SCAL2 (2.012)?

Brendaw, which one of Penny's nesties are you trying to open? She has a whole bunch of them. Just tell me which one and I'll try it on my Mac and let you know.

Hi, I was able to get the .svg file and open it in Inkscape as well as SCAL 2.012. I'm on Snow Leopard on my Mac. I don't have SCAL 2.011 anymore but that should not matter. Do you have Inkscape and can you open it there?

What happens when you try and open it, exactly?

well when I click to download it it goes to a new window and then I try and save as an svg but it tells me I have to save as a webarchive. I change it when it is on my desktop to an svg and when I try and open it from SCAL it says file failed to load. I am sure I am going about it all wrong but I am new to this and don't know what to try. I don't have inkscape. Is it free and do I need it to open svg files? Thank you for your help!

Ok, got it. When you click on download here on her file you get a nice "image" of the nestable RIGHT? Then you RIGHT CLICK on the image you should get a drop down to save the file, and sav as "page source" you don't need to type in ANYTHING it saves as a .svg. Then you can open the file in SCAL2 via the .svg button. I do have a two button mouse so I can right click, not sure how to right click on a one button mouse, but I can find out if you need it.

You do not NEED inkscape to open .svg files in SCAL but if you need to do some heavy editing you might want to try it one day. Get SCAL under your belt first tho. Yes it is free and you can download it at
