Help finding a basic fat flourish...pretty please????

Post by hope9811 »

Isn't this cute? I LOVE the flourish on this and I thought I would do a "whoo loves you" instead of the cute as a bug with some cute little owls I made, but I can't find a basic flourish like this fat enough for me to use. When I tried in SCAL to fatten up some, the lines weren't as rounded as they should be.....it seems like such a simple flourish, but most I have found are too thin to cut small.

Can anyone help me find a basic flourish like this that is fat enough to cut at around 3 inchs total length....I have spent the last 1 1/2 hours looking through flourish files and most will not cut smaller. I scrapbook at 8 1/2 x 11 and so I need a nice "fat" swirl that will cut smaller without tearing....

Anyone??? Thanks!
Heidi

I actually did see this one and if it was just the top piece it would work great, but in SCAL when I try to delete a node to delete the bottom part of the shape, it deletes the entire image.....hope (the other Todd...LOL) fixes that. Thanks though!

I just made one up - I cut it at 3" and it worked fine.
Here it is:

Instead of deleting single nodes, try either using the drawing tool or a basic shape to mask off the part that you want, then use Path/Intersection.

What tool are you using to try to delete the nodes?

When I was in SCAL 2, I selected the node tool so it showed all the nodes and then I clicked on a few of them, but each time I click on them and hit delete (on the keyboard) it deleted the entire image. I was hoping to just delete the extra nodes and then make the remaining onces continue the shape.

If I'm doing this wrong, I'd LOVE to know how to do this as I was so excited to have the node options available.

Thanks,
Heidi

As far as I know, the only way to delete nodes in SCAL2 is one at a time by clicking on them with the drawing tool. SCAL2 does have some node editing capabilities, but they are fairly clumsy, so if you can use one of the Path options and then use the tools to adjust the shape you will probably be better off.
