Ok heres the deal with your bone file, i have been having the same problem when putting the orientation in horizontal, i just emailed sizzix yesterday, here is what i figured out is happening, whenever you choose your mat or paper in horizontal, the text/ appearance box is still thinking in vertical format, so for now until they get this fixed you need to only work in portrait/vertical mode, so all you need to do is put your paper in vertical and then select your bone and hit the rotate button in the appearance box to fit it the right way and then it will cut.

Im sorry i forgot to reply to your problem of your machine not being recognized, I do know that any time you unplug it from your computer or plug it back in the machine first has to be shut off, so if you are using your remote and then plug it in to your computer without turning it off first or vice versa you will get the error you are seeing. I downloaded the update, but still when you type text for instance, you hit the text button, set size to 5.00" and then type the word, it doesnt come out as five inches, so now after you type your word, you have to select it, go to the appearance box and change your height to 5.00. still some glitches but i am confident they will get all this fixed!!! but the update did fix the horizontal mat and material situation. thank you

I ran into another glitch with the 8.5 x 11 paper last evening. I am not getting registration marks for the print to cut feature and my text was well within the margins of the mat. Will send a request in on that too, but has anyone else experienced the same?

I experience that once, but i didnt leave enough room for registration marks, it seemed like you needed at least an 1 1/2 away from all sides. try calibrating your laser in ecal and see if it prints the registration marks that way, then you will be able to see if you just didnt give it enough room, also dont forget to go in preferences and check the 3 point registration marks, TL,TR,BR (i believe thats it).

I left plenty of room and do have it set for the 3 registration marks. Will check out the calibration. Didn't think of that. Thanks.
