Help me be like you :D

Post by skittles »

Hey,
So I dont want to have to keep asing everyone to convert stuff for me (I dont want to annoy people :p)
I have inkscape and Sure cuts alot.
how do I open a jpg and convert to an svg file ?
I have tried looking on the net but I cant find a nice easy (layman's terms) explanation.
I am not very computer savy but LOVE cutting stuff with my new toy!
so any help would be greatly appreciated

In SCAL2, click the fifth button from the left (the one with the picture of the hill and tree) to convert your jpeg and import it directly into SCAL.

Here is a link to a tutorial for converting jpegs into SVGs using Inkscape: http://scraption.com/2008/12/how-to-use ... -software/

Good luck!

Also, the tutorials on the homepage of Craftedge should be viewed. I watched all of them several times to learn how to do stuff.
Then you will understand the answers better too, when you do ask a question. Take the time with the tutorials. I it really helpful.

SKittles - I applaud your desire to learn. Once you start to have those light bulb moments, you'll be so proud of yourself. :) As suggested from the other posters, view as many tutorials as you can and practice, practice practice. Also, don't get too discouraged along the way if things don't work out. It happens.

There are tutorials all over this forum. Go to the main index page and there are also tutorials for Inkscape. Have fun.

If you are a bookworm (like me) there are also some books you can purchase on Amazon that are great reference materials, but I started with the tutorials and learned real fast (and still learning).
