Not cutting all the way through paper

Post by cassandra »

Hi,
I don't think I was meant to have this machine. Some cuts it goes through and the next one nothing or halfway. I am trying to cut a doily shape using walmart card stock, I have folded the paper in half and made sure blade was just a tiny hair over the second layer and I have the pressure on five and it won't cut all the way through the paper. It's as if the blade isn't going through but halfway. I don't know why this machine is so hard for me to understand. If you can help with this. Thanks.

What machine are you using . it is hard to help unless we know the machine in which you are having issues with.

If you are using the Gazelle, you should post on that site. They are very helpful there but you will have to give more info there too. Which bladeholder are you using...the original or the preset...when you say pressure set at 5 (and I'm assuming you mean on the machine which is actually the force) that is way to much force for walmart cardstock. I have cut chipboard at 3. On the F setting, 1(being the lowest and the leftmost dot) and 5(being the extreme right dot and will force the blade deeper into the medium) set the most force. I use more force when I'm using an o-ring which lifts the bladeholder up so the blade won't drag across the cut, and the force pushes the blade down to cut.

Yes, it's the Gazelle, sorry for not mentioning that. It's been a long day fiddling with this machine. Thank you for your help. I have put the blade down more as it was out to much, I will keep pluggin' along...Thank you again so much.
