ISO salt shaker/pepper mill

Post by abbysalley »

I have spend a lot of time browsing the boards, but am a brand new member. I am hoping that someone can help me find some kitchen items. I want simple, clean lines that will work well cut in a small size. I would like a salt shaker and pepper mill. I found a few throughout the forums, but none were quite what I have in mind.
Thanks for your help!

Abby, there are so many style of salt/pepper mills to choose from that it would be helpful if you find the style you want and post a link/pic to it so we don't waste time designing the incorrect style.

Pick a pic from here

I made them, as I thought perhaps I can use them sometime too.
Here you go...layered or simple one cut, one layered ones that you could copy and paste to a new page to cut by themselve in the upper right of the layout.

Thank you for your help and suggestions! I really like the shape of the ones linked below, but would rather holes in the salt shaker and not a knob. I like the shape of the knob that gj1 made, but would like a little more curve to the shakers.

You could use the nodes tool and reshape what I made you or you could use union and add some circles to curve them up.

Here is the link to all of the tutorials to get you started to learn how we do it. After you watch them you will get the satisfaction of making these simple objects on your own, or taking the pictures you chose, if free and available to use, and use the trace feature to recreate the shapes for cutting. Good luck. It is always best to show effort to learn along with all of us and then others will go out of their way to help you further.

Thank you gj1. I discovered that not all of my tools were showing up, so it's no wonder I was having a hard time figuring out how to edit things! I had to uninstall and reinstall, and now things seem to be working fine. I was able to use the files you created, with very little tweaking. Thanks for taking the time to help me! It is very much appreciated!

So sorry...I should have said, "Welcome to the board"...I'm glad to have you with us. Glad you found all the tools under Window at the top and at the bottom there is where you can customize your mat area and how it loads on your screen. You can go there to get your tools back if you can't see them. Show us what you are making...I love looking at everyone's stuff. And, again, I really am glad you are with us, and I believe you are going to have a lot of fun. Enjoy!
