Could someone help me convert this image?

Post by KatieK »

Hi everyone!

I'm so sorry to do this again. . .you all have been so helpful to me. . .and PATIENT as I learn! My brother-in-law is a teacher and a Wrestling coach at a local HS. I am wanting to make a fun design for him using the 'Bobcat' logo school mascott they use.

I'm not too great with the computer so I can't post a pic here but there is a great image of what I am looking for here:

https://7147213799266632070-a-benton-k1 ... edirects=0

I don't need the BENTON WRESTING part of the image--just the Bobcat.

If this link doesn't work--please let me know & I'll see if I can find another one or figure out a way to add the photo to my post (with some help!)

Thanks so much!

Hey all...

I've figured out how to get the image converted to .svg but it looks crappy Is there a way to sort of clean it up?

Would anyone be willing to either 'talk me through this' or do this for me?

I would REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks again-
Katie

Jo-Anne -- you are my inspiration. I tried working on this one last evening and was almost there, but couldn't get it straight in my mind how to do a few things. Hope this isn't too complicated of a question. I'll see if I can remember what I did (as there was a lot of trial and error), but I did the trace image -- worked fine, I then ungrouped and did break apart (could then identify the pieces of the shapes in the face). I used the paint bucket tool and was able to recolor each of the pieces to blue which then allowed me to group them together, move them off the image below.

Where I was really stuck is on the outline of the face and separating the words that were with this image from the top point of the ears.

Is the outline you are showing a base layer? If so, I can't figure out how to get that.

I'm going to try to cut yours today so I understand how it cuts as I think all the pieces cut separately.

Seems I make one step forward sometimes and two steps behind....but I'm gonna make this happen somehow, someway, someday.

I know this wasn't my original post, but thank you to the poster.

JoAnne-

This is PERFECT! Thank you so much! I, too was way too confused by all the pieces and couldn't get it to look quite right.

You are AMAZING!!! Thanks for all you do. . .I really appreciate it.

I've realized the Bobcat lost the B and the C in his ears. I'm hoping to get them back in there. I've found another image without any words going overtop of his ears. But when I convert him to steal the ears they are attached and I'm not sure how to un-attach them.

There is another image here:

http://www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/JPirkl/index.cfm

About halfway down the page on the lefthand side is another pretty good image of the Bobcat without any words to cover his ears. Is there a way to sort of 'steal' the ears from this one and add them to the beautiful one that Jo-Anne did?
I know this guy is really difficult (as I have been trying here for quite some time myself) so I don't want to start all over, or have anyone else HAVE to either...

Thanks for any info you might have!

I really appreciate all your help

Okay I did one with letters that are separate so you can just ungroup them.. The image is the original one I did..

joanne - You are the sweetest thing, but look at the original image, look at the ears... the left one has a B and the right one has a C. I think that is what the OP was looking for.

My SVG that I posted has the B and C, along with a mat to put the bobcat on.

but I am sure she will appreciate the rest of team spelled out too! LOL!

I most certainly do appreciate the whole team name!! . . . And thanks for helping to add the letters to the ears. They WERE hard to see. . .as it even took me a few minutes to realize that the bobcat also spelled about BOBCATS.

Great team logo!

Thanks so much everone! I don't know what I would do without you guys! :D
You are the best!

Thanks again
