if Craft Edge/SCAL has also settled with PC? There's been a couple of different mentions of it on some other forums but I hadn't seen anything official so I figure it's just idle speculation in light of what has happened with MTC.
Just curious.

Re: Has anyone heard.....
I think there is a lot of speculation out there right now. What I got out of the settlement was that MTC had to recall/deactivate the first 600 copies they sold that had the cartridge backup included in the program. I did not see anything that said they had to "cease and desist" creating or selling their software or anything saying that we could not update the software we currently have. I have never like PC but felt they were the only option out there within my price range but as the other makers of craft plotters step up to the plate with comparable machines I will be only too happy to switch. If it is true that BOA has purchased them that will not be good for crafters. Their only mission will be to increase profits and we all know what that means. So I guess we will all have to wait and see what happens with the SCAL lawsuit. I am certain that we are not scaring PC with the stuff that is going on on the web, in blogs, etc. as a matter of fact, they have proven time and time again that they really don't care a whole lot about their customers so don't expect them to back down on this because they will not.

I take that back, MTC has announced that they will no longer support their program for PC products. I guess owners can still use it but it does not say anything about whether or not they can still update.

No, they did not have to quit making/selling the software - but they did have to remove the cut to cricut option and made this change last night. Anyone owning MTC and using a Cricut will not want to upgrade their MTC version at this time - this has been emphasized on the MTC forums.jrichards wrote:I think there is a lot of speculation out there right now. Like you, I don't expect all the boycotts and things to have any real impact, however I freely choose to not spend another $ on PC products. Choosing where to spend my $$$ is really the only choice I have in this matter.
Re: Has anyone heard.....
I agree with you. So I was just looking at the ecraft machine and I know they were looking for someone to test SCAL on theirs but did they find someone and is that machine now supported by SCAL? I really like the idea of no mat. Does anyone on this forum own one?

Celeste - from Touched by a Butterfly blog has one - you can probably talk to her. I know she posts her sometimes - but you can reach her through her blog.

Re: Has anyone heard.....
I have a Ecraft and I love it....
There are some tweaks I have to do.... It really doesn't work well with out the mat. I used the paperpack covers to use as a cardstock sdtabilizer... The greatest thing is I do not have to stick it...
As far as the SCAL software with it..... WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!! Is all I can say... I was fortunate enough to test it out in my opinion it works wonderful.....
I got your email and I will send you an email.
