Please HELP Im new!

Post by paulap »

I have a Cricut expression, I downloaded SCAL2 it acts really crazy. Its seem like it wants to go further off the cut mat than it can...thats the only way I can explain it....it sounds like its gonna tear up my machine, I have emailed the crafts edge folks several time, they suggested I reset it, download the free trial of DS to update my firmware...Ive done all that I did it twice infact...its still not working right....any ideas of what could be wrong or what I can do to fix the problem....when I turn on my cricut it says V2.34 someone please help....I hate to think Ive waisted money by trying to save money on cartridges...

In SCAL, do you have the mat size under CUTTER, set to what you are using? Do you have the orientation as you'd like it in the Properties popup panel(Horizontal or Vertical)?

Hope this helps.

the cutting off the expected place is a common thing with the cricut. I tried both with scal and DS. Perhaps one of the bright people here can help up with that. About the other problem, have you tried reducing the pressure and/or the blade level? That seemed to help me just a few days ago.

Bought the stupid heavy duty blade from provocraft just to discover I didn't really needed for cutting cereal box card stock. :x

I always make sure that both the cricut and SCAL2 is portrait and the mat size is correct, I just dont understand why it tries to cut where it cant.....understand what Im saying, the blade cant go any further left or right but it tries and then says done cutting...IDK seems like I waisted money

You would have to tell the experts what type of operating system you are using and such. I have searched and don't see where anyone else has mentioned this problem. Maybe email support again.

Wonder if this matters, it doesnt matter what I pick landscape or portrait the mat size stays 24w and 12l.....now if its in portriat mode shouldnt that change to 24l and 12w? Im just trying to figure out what is going on....it worked 1 time right and now its freaking out again
