tree to fit a corner

Post by teachinglaffs »

I told my daughter I would make a vinyl tree so the trunk and branches are in the corner of her baby's room. I am not sure how to go about this. I have an example of what she likes. I need help, please. I attached a picture of one she liked but without the dog and swing. Thanks so much in advance for your help. I will try anything for my soon to be grandson.

Do you mean that she wants the trunk in the corner and branches on both sides coming from the corner? Or that you just need to split the trunk so that it is on both walls? In either case, you can split the design in Inkscape, copy it, flip one copy and then cut in two pieces so that you are joining them in the corner. If you're just wanting the trunk on both walls, then just split the trunk and apply the vinly like you would wallpaper in the corner.

Thanks for asking. I want it just how it looks but without the leaves, dog or swing. I just don't know how to do it. I will add the leaves myself and then add an owl to one of the branches. So basically I want the tree trunk and branches just like it is in the picture.

I've done the tree, but someone (like talan Todd) who has more experience with cutting large pieces will have to come along and break it up to cut. I assume that you want it approx 7 ft tall and ? wide. I'm not good at math but here is the svg file for someone else to play with.

Thank you so much. If Todd doesn't read this, maybe I can figure out how to do it. I think I want it 96" x 50". Todd, if you do read this or anyone else, can you help make it this size. I do have a 24 x 12 inch mat. Thanks for helping me out.

Here is this artwork divided. If this will work, I will save each cut individually with measurements. PM me an e-mail address and I can send you the files.
