ADDING COLOR TO PIECES IN INKSCAPE

Post by jessie adams »

Once I've done a trace bitmap, etc. is there a way to add individual colors to the "break apart" pieces so I can group them before saving as an svg? Sure would make it easier to arrange the paper for cutting in SCAL.
I've tried the eye dropper and that did not work.
Thanks

very easy.

all you have to do is click on a piece, then click on any color on the color bar/tool on the bottom of your screen.

you can do this from the outline view or normal view. if you have the view selected to outline, you won't see any color, but if you change it to normal, you'll see the color.

hope this helps.

Ah thanks Jancy.
I had been trying to colour but didn't se anything happening, but of course I was in outline view.
I never thought of checking under normal view.
I can go and colour all my pieces now.

Never even thought of outline versus normal view.

Thanks so much, Jancy. This will definitely make the grouping and cutting easier. :D
