Hello! I am new to this program as of TODAY! and so far...I LOVE IT! ESPECIALLY THE WELDING, MUCH EASIER THAN DS.
Anywho....I am in need of help downloading files to use in SCAL. There are some on in the MB I would like to download but I am not sure where to put them in my computer so that SCAL knows they are there...
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Help! Where do I download my files too??
You can put the files anyplace as long as you know where you put them. Once you open SCAL, you click on File>Open Project (and then go the the location of the file) if it is a .scut file; you click on File>Import SVG (and then go the location of the file) if it is a .svg file.
Both types of files are posted on the board and both can be opened in SCAL.

Re: Help! Where do I download my files too??
Hello:
I also created a folder in My Documents called SCAL then sub folders such as critters, dress up, mermaid, fairies etc. I also like to try to seperate others that have made files that I imported to these files. Now for what happened to me:
I bought my new computer in Jan. Harddrive crashed three weeks ago and just got it up and running again. I bought an extra external Harddrive to put my don't want to loose files on and that is what I work off of now. It's not any harder to use then your internal hard drive and hope it wont go belly up. I did this because of all the graphics, pics I have on file. I could have used a thumb drive but this holds more and don't have to change ou t the different thumb drives. These graphics are heavy and sure need the space for all that I have made. Inkscape is such a wonderful sister program for SCAL and CDS and makes it so easy to create.
Have fun
