repositioning blade

Post by wildkatz »

I am trying to do 3 different colors of vinyl. I cut the first color out and then tried to do a shadow with the next color. When I move my blade over to position it on the next color, it doesn't stay. I hit cut and it goes right back to the right hand corner on my first color. I hope this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Why are you tring to reposition the blade? If you are cutting 3 different colors you should have different cuts (layers). If all the cuts (layers) will fit on one 12x12 mat then position each cut (layer)on the virtual matt then place the color of choice on the actual mat then cut. I hope this helps. :) Carol

Your blade will go to wherever your image is on your virtual mat in scal... if your 3rd layer is on the right hand side of your virtual mat in scal that is why your blade is going there..

I have the 3 layers laid out across the top of the virtual mat. I laid the 3 different colors of vinyl across the top of the cutting mat. When I send it to cut it cuts all 3 on the first color of vinyl in the right hand corner. I don't have a clue what to do. Thanks

Sounds like your first cut contains all of the pieces, and then your 2nd and 3rd cuts are visible but on other pages. Do a select all and look at your first picture and see if maybe you copied from that one to lay out the others. Copying would have still left the other layers under your first. You needed to remove them.
