Inexpensive second-hand cartridges

Well, mostly I want to do vinyl for personal things like restoring the decals on my electric car, graphics for the motorcycles, car windows, etc. and for model cars and slot cars... of course I might be persuaded to accept money for custom cuts! It would be terrible to have it actually pay for itself, now wouldn't it?

Minor omission in the eBay listing... I went and bought blades and cutting mats on the way home from work since I saw that it had arrived, and got a major disappointment when I opened the machine up! I asked the seller to consider spotting me some reimbursement for the $34 for ordering the assembly since it wasn't listed as missing, we'll see if that day happens, but I ordered it priority mail none-the-less.

Otherwise the unit seems to be working fine, I tested it with 'Walk In My Garden' tonight (Thanks, Nicole, real masculine cartridge you lent me! ) I need to upgrade the firmware for SCAL and get my order in so I can start working!

Well that's not cool! Did you get a regular blade or the special blade I've seen that can cut acrylic for stamping? I'm kind of curious about that blade. I'm thinking it would be great for chipboard. I read where a few people ordered it to try but can't find anything about the results of the cuts...

I got the standard unit, I didn't know about the other one.

Well, I got the firmware updated to v1.1, but the DesignStudio demo still says that my firmware needs upgraded and SCAL gets hung starting to talk to the cutter. Todd is working with me to try to figure this out, it might be some corrupt or outdated files on my PC, I'm going to try another PC tonight.

Well, I tried a completely different, freshly installed PC, downloaded everything it asked for and still got the 'firmware needs upgraded' message. That's it... I give up, this Cricut I bought is possesed and it's going back to the seller! (I hope he honors his 3 day any reason return guarantee!)

I also requested that ProvoCraft cancel my order for my blade assembly or issue an RMA# if it already got shipped. That will cost me about $6 in restocking fees.

I have to decide which way I'm going to go now... I still will have a Street Sign Solutions cartridge, if I don't buy another Cricut I'll either sell it at work or offer it here... I'm not hurting for what I paid for it, but I won't 'need' it if I get a new one since it will come with George and the mini cartridge.

Lemonade anyone????

Well, the Cricut-Powers-That-Be must be looking out for me... I have located another Cricut that will be tested with SCAL before purchase... I won't be cutting this weekend, but it looks like I will be cutting in the near future!
