Does anyone know how to use the program GIMP

Does anyone know how to use the program GIMP? I want to do a cut out of my grandson but don't know the first thing about this program. Is there a tutorial on how to use it. The guy at Borders Books said it is a simple program. I guess he doesn't know me.

Yes, I use GIMP quite often with Inkscape & SCAL. I prefer it to SCAL & Inkscape's tracing features. If you do a search for GIMP on these boards, you should find some posts from me giving general explanations on how to do tracing with it.

I use it also. It's pretty easy. I watched videos on youtube.
