Sugestions and help welcom for my pond

Post by trishtroubles »

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to this board fron the Netherlands! I just got SCAL and love it, but i'm still learning to work with it! I teach 10-11 year olds (don't know what grade that is, sorry) and now that i have my summer holiday im preparing my self for the next schoolyear that starts in September. I get a class of 28 kids, that have a lot of socially problems. I want to make a pond on my classroomwall. The fish will have te rules of our class on there belly, each week here will be one fish thats the "important" fish for that week and we will do our best to work by that rule. I made the fish in inkscape, but now i want to "dress" the pond, does anybody have a idea or svg file to dress my pond? I will put my fish in this post as well maybe somebody can use them.

Thanks for thinking with me :D

Patricia

How about some cattails and water lillies and maybe a crane standing in the water. some rocks surrounding the pond .

You could use seagrass in the water or grass and flowers around the pond. There is seagrass here http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopi ... ass#p37420 and if you do a search there have been a couple of grass borders posted.

I do not have any suggestions beyond those that have already been posted but I just wanted to say that this sounds like a great idea for learning the rules of the class. Visually interest always helps with those types of things and the age group you are working with. Good Luck!!!!

I just thought of an idea. It may be a stretch for a pond and may be a bit more than what you want to do but you could try a small no engine boat with a kid fishing off the side. You could design it so that the rule of the week is the fish that is on the fishing line. Just a thought.
