selecting objects
It would be nice if when you highlight a group of object that only the objects that are 100% inside the box selected. An Idea would be to have it both ways. If you highlight objects starting your box from upper left ending in lower right only objects that are 100% in box select. If you start in the lower left and end in the upper right all object that intersect the box select. This sequence is used in other software packages I commonly use.

Re: selecting objects
I agree, only objects that are 100% inside the selection box should be selected. That is the way every other program that I have used works.

Re: selecting objects
Wholeheartedly agree.
I have learned to take advantage of this oddity, though. If I am trying to select a line that is hard to hit, I can draw a marquee around a small section of it and it will be selected. Still doesn't help if within a larger object.
And while we are on this subject, I would like for the object on the active layer to be selected when you click instead of having to lock all the layers underneath to keep from selecting them instead.
Also when doing copy and paste to duplicate an object I would like for the pasted object to be selected when it enters the mat like in other graphics programs instead of the original staying selected. It can be a real pain to then select that pasted object to move it elsewhere or manipulate it.

I don't know about this it is nice to be able to manipulate the project as one with the option of looking partsfirstcut wrote: And while we are on this subject, I would like for the object on the active layer to be selected when you click instead of having to lock all the layers underneath to keep from selecting them instead.
YES THAT TOO This would also eliminate the need to reposition the pasted object if pasting to a new layer. I did find you can over ride the preposition by using [ctrl-shift-v] *Paste in placefirstcut wrote:Also when doing copy and paste to duplicate an object I would like for the pasted object to be selected when it enters the mat like in other graphics programs instead of the original staying selected. Re: selecting objects
OH YES PLEASE, It has been driving me mad as i am so used to the copied object to be the one selected that my frustration level grows.firstcut wrote:

Also when copying the same object several times Pasting them drops them down and across the page. but overlapping, Can they at least stay on the same row as the original or below them in a column . I have now found the feature that will paste on top of original which is at least more useful than the other function.
Thanks
Another Feature requested
To be able to choose how many copies on the auto fill, so just one line of it and be able to state whether in a column or a row.
Or X lines in Xcolumns: Xrows )etc.
So that we can build a grid of our own choosing.
At present it only copies as a whole mat. This makes it difficult if we only need a small grid or just 2 lines.
I am learning a lot and really enjoying it despite the frustrations.

Especially being able to use it on a MAC computer for the same price as the Windows one.
That is SO refreshing so a BIG THANK YOU for the lack of discrimination.

Use a MAC computer running 10.6.7: SCAL v 2.043
