Bit of help, please, on SCUT files

Post by AuntBeepBeep »

I have the following scut file that I want to alter to make it into a daisy. I cannot 'open' it in Inkscape and I do not know how to alter it it SCAL, if it's possible. Can anyone offer suggestions or point me towards tutorials that will help? I've been at this for days now and am not getting anywhere. TIA.

Scut files can only be opened in SCAL. Try sending a message to the person who posted the project and ask if they can send it to you as a svg file so that you can change it in Inkscape.

I imported the SVG file into Sure Cuts A Lot 2. Because the original SCUT file had raggedy edges. However, SVG file's pieces don't seem to fit together very well. The holes in the flower part and the propeller (leaf part) are not large enough. The bottom's petals are too large and barely fit through the holes. I may try to "clean" up the original and use it. But since I have about 20 children to prepare for in a few hours, I may abandon this one. Good idea - just needs a little extra work.

I brought the original Scut into SCAL2 and did Path Simplify and it looks good...which is possibly what Sweetness did some time ago. It did not take but a second. Have not tried to cut though.

You are correct that it was a bit goofy on the cut, so I made one using a star and new flower.
Fold star for box scoring by hand for bottom and in one inch on each point and bent all scores.
Slide leaves and flower over the points.

YES!!!! Thank you! Thank you! That did it. I am decorating our children's room at our library. Spring is here and I wanted to give them something this month that would be special. This is a very easy pattern to work with. Thank you again for replying back and taking the time to adjust the file. :)
