Where to start??

Post by FANGS »

Hello everyone!

I'm working on the Red Queen costume from the Burton Alice in Wonderland. The fabric for her gold outer skirt cannot be sourced, nor can anything even remotely close be located. So I'm looking in to other options. I'm wondering if it is at all possible to break the design down in to it's basic parts and use the Cricut to cut them out on fabric (backed with Heat'n'Bond of course) and then iron them on back in the original design. I'm guessing doing the entire design together would be mighty impossible. I don't even know where to start to design an SVG file for that.

Any help or advice that you may have is MOST appreciated. I'm looking for the red pattern on the gold outer skirt to be as close a possible but it doesn't have to be exact. In this picture, part of the design looks black. It is in fact all red though so I need the inner "cross like" design and the outer border as well that makes up the diamonds.

Thanks in advance!

Are you a beginner.. As for myself.. I'm no longer a beginner but I wouldn't attempt something like this.. Not this complicated to start out with.. It would only lead to a lot of frustration on my part.. Could you not perhaps start with a coloring book image and add your own choice of fabric colors in...???
