yes, that can be done if people will upload a screenprint along with the file. I too like to see what i am getting. If I can't use a file I don't need to take up space with it although it can be deleted if i don't want it.
I have done it both ways. Mostly being lazy on my part  There are a few steps to get the screen print unless I only know the hard way to do it.

I am grateful also just for everyone taking the time to give a file. Thank you to all who share. Heavens knows i have downloaded more than uploaded.

On my computer I can download but it doesn't save.. Only way it saves is if I hit save file.. Normally that's why I attach an image to my posted file is so people have the option to decide whether they want to download or not.. I also check in |SCAL first to see if it will open properly.. :D

If you are talking about saving svg files. Here's what I do to be able to know what I'm getting and can see it later. I right-click the picture and save to a certain file. Then I download the svg and save it to the same file.

This takes a few steps more than just simply saving the svg, but here's a more detail way I do it (I'm OCD about organization).

I have a folder in My Documents labeled "0 Scrapbooking". The reason for the '0' is to make it my 1st file. I have several different folders and subfolders in this file because I save all of my svg's by categories. Examples: Animals with subfolder for each---- cats, deer, fish, birds, etc.; Food & Kitchen with subfolders for fruit, dishes, vegetables, etc. Vehicles with subfolders of antiques, emergency, trucks, tractors, boats, etc.

OK, now to get to saving. If the item I want to save is a tractor, I save the image in '0 Scrapbooking', and make a 'tractor' folder. Then I save the svg file and unzip (if necessary) into the same folder. Then I move that folder into the appropriate place,,,which would be 'Vehicles'. If I already have a tractor in that file, then I label it 'tractor 2' or 'red tractor'

This sounds much more complicated than it sounds and all I have to do if I want to cut a flower, then I go to my 'Flower' folder.

I have 1000 or more files and 95% of them have an image with them so it makes those few extra steps worth it....
By the way,,,I'm OCD with my photo organization on my computer too.

If you want more details, let me know...

I don't know why the option was changed, but we used to be able to open the file and view it before you downloaded it. I think it's a pain to have to download it and then open it to view it. Posting a pic of the file would be great.
