Changing Cricut machines..

Post by ristan »

Hi all, I'm sure this has been addressed, but I can't seem to find a post about it....

I'm changing from the Personal Cricut to the Cricut Expression, and I'm wondering if I have to do anything specific to SCAL in order for it to work on the new machine? If I just plug the new machine in, will it switch automatically from the 6x12 to the 12x12 format? I'm afraid to just do it, as I have a habit of blowing things up! LOL

Appreciate any comments you have!

Hi, Congrats on your new toy you are going to LOVE it. So long as you have the correct firmware in the new E machine you can just plug it in with the usb cable. The SCAL software will recognize that the E is attached. When you select cut you'll see this box pop up. I don't even think you have to restart your computer but I'd have both machines off and once attached then start up the machines and the software.

The pull down menu has both the personal and the E listed, select the one you want to cut with. The "cutter" menu choice is where you say what size mat you are using.

Hope that helps
