I have the design I want to cut in SCAL opened and ready. I have everything plugged in and for some reason everytime I go to cut from my computer to my cricut something goes wrong.
says connecting on the machine then the SCAL program dissapears off the computer and a send error report comes on. On the cricut machine it says connecting USB blinks a couple times, then goes back to normal regular, like when you first turn it on. Can anyone help. I've tried turning everything off and back on, tried unconnecting and reconnecting everything. What else should I do?
Please help, cricut not reading scal

Sounds as though your computer can't communicate with your Cricut machine.
Here's a few things to try:
Have you updated the firmware on your Cricut machine using the trial version of Design Studio?
If you haven't updated the firmware, do the firmware update, turn off your computer, restart it then load SCAL2 and try cutting a shape from the preloaded ones in SCAL2 - Window - Shapes. If that works then you know that SCAL is working fine and you can open or import the original file you want to cut.
If it's still not working here's some other things to check:
Make sure the USB cables are plugged into the port on your computer and not in a usb port on your keyboard.
When you installed SCAL2, did you activate the software through the Craft Edge website and get a message saying it was activated?
Also, have you downloaded the latest update for SCAL2 which is 2.010 from the Craft Edge website?

If none of those work, try sending a email to Craft Edge.

One other thing, you didn't say if you have installed the drivers it needs.

I only have scal 1. And I've never done an update before. What do I need to do?
one other thing I forgot to mention, I've used this program before many many times, I even used it today and it worked but I had to cancel the cutting. After that It wouldn't work.

That makes a difference. Are you trying to cut a file that was created in SCAL2?EdeeJohnson wrote:I only have scal 1. And I've never done an update before. What do I need to do?
