inkscape trouble

ok here i go again...inkscape is being a pain for me....i install the program and it works but when i shut my computer down and start up the next day i get this

the application was unable to start correctly 0x0000005 click ok to close the application. and poo that's it. i am unable to use it. I am tired of uninstalling and reinstalling that does not work all the time either.

any suggestions? i do have in operating in xp mode

Try running it not in XP mode. I haven't used Ink in Win7 yet, but with Vista I do not use XP compatibility on Ink, and Win7 is based on Vista. HTH

thank you heather. i tried all the modes and a no go, it might have to do with 64 bit...i'll have to let it go and purchase a program when i get state side.paint has been doing fine in the mean time as i am not doing anything tooooo difficult. again thanks.

Have you tried using Gimp.. It's very similar to inscape and very free as well :D
