Intricate Dingbat Cut

Post by mariet »

This is a card I made using my Cricut and the Sure-Cuts-A-Lot software. This image is a dingbat from a font called Art Nouveau Flowers at a site called House of Lime. The address is http://www.houseoflime.com/. I was trying to see how intricate the Cricut would cut. I made the card a little smaller than 5 x 7. I cut it out of black cardstock and used a glue stick to put it on a chalk background. I resized my picture this time so I hope it will show up alright. Thanks for looking.

That is intriquite. Sometimes mine tear because of the detail (or shred in the machine). This one turned out beautiful.

I just cut the hummingbird dingbat also out of black. It turned out gorgeous! I think I had it sized a bit too big (I have the baby bug) because one of the corners kind of cut on itself making a notch out of the corner. I'm still going to use it though! It's kind of tricky getting off of the mat - I found the large spatula and the hook tool to be very useful getting this one off. I used a roller adhesive on my mat and it was too powerful making it even more challenging to get off. I found the weight of Creative Memories standard black paper to be most favorable for cutting - high pressure and fast speed. The lighter weight of Provo paper made for the smaller Cricut ripped yet didn't cut through on a lighter pressure setting. It sure is great fun to be able to cut such pretty dingbats! Even my husband thought it was neat!

I love the effects of your coloring on this cutout. Very sharp.
