Draw a line.....

Can someone please tell me if and how I can draw a straight line on the SCAL2 please and if you can erase any lines ... say on a square or something that you have put on it from the shapes tap.... cheers am having a play around...and loving it...yay!!!

SCAL can only cut closed paths, so you can't draw a line or erase a line from a closed path, but there are workarounds. You can take a rectangle and make it so narrow that the two opposite sides land on top of each other. The "line" will cut twice, but other than that it functions as a line. You can constuct other open shapes like your 3 sides square in Inkscape by drawing them with the line tool and then selecting path<stroke to path. It will create a narrow closed path which, again, will cut twice, but give you the final shape you are after.
