Masking

Hello
I would really like a "mask" feature.
Of course........ with my luck ....... it's already in 2.0 and I just don't know it.

Anyway ....... sometimes I have a cut file or svg with more than one item that I DO NOT want to cut out.
I would love to be able to put a "box" over those items and know they won't be cut!
That would be awesome!
