Is Inkscape required for Scal 2.0?

I had a cutter before that required Inkscape and never enjoyed using it... which is why I switched to the Cricut. Now I'm considering Scal 2.0... by the screenshots, it looks similar to DS.

I didn't see that it is required. The latest version will trace a bitmap but it looks very generic. The design I tried would have still needed to be tweaked in INK.

I love the lastest version. I didn't even know it was out.

Hi everyone...

Just noticed this post and was wondering, this new SCAL 2.0 that is out, is this like an update that you can just download for free if you have SCAL already or is it something like that Design Studio Pro that is supposedly coming out at some point that you need to re-buy to get it? Anyone know?

K nevermind, I found it, it says for a limited time $30 for upgrade, $35 otherwise.

Next question is, for anyone who has the upgrade, is it worth the extra, and why?

It's worth the buy but it still has some bugs to it that need to be worked out..
