Help! I am trying to print something from Inkscape.
Help! I am trying to print something from Inkscape.
Does anyone know if there is a way to print something. I tried everything I could think of and the on-line manual was not all that helpful. Thanks in advance for any help. Amy

As opposed to SCAL and DS which don't have any print functions, Inkscape prints just like any other software you have.

Thanks, maybe I am just having trouble. I have tried to print using the print function from the file menu, but nothing happens. I am able to print to the same printer from all of my other programs, so I assumed I need to do something to convert an .svg file to print, but I guess not. Thanks for the info.

Is the file showing up in the print monitor? Wild stab here...By default, Inkscape is set to A4 size paper, so maybe your printer is waiting for you to load A4 instead of letter size paper.

Thanks for the idea, but I changed it to letter size paper already.

I found this on the Inkscape forum.
"Anyway, the workaround for pretty much every printing problem is to go Print, then select the rendering tab, then select bitmap and a dpi. I wouldn't go too high, probably a max of 300."
