scal 2

Post by bob proulx »

Hi everyone. I have two Cricut cutters. My windows 7 laptop crashed and My new computer is windows 8.1. I tried cutting a test project to make sure things worked and found I have some issues. When I work in scal all looks good, when I cut I am getting cut lines across my letters and cut line going across the whole piece cutting the project into thirds. Anyone have any Ideas, I hope I don't have to buy a new cutter. I forgot to mention I tried it on both my cutters thinking it may be one of the cutters but it did the same thing on both.

Bob, generally speaking the slash across cutting indicates that the software has not been activated. Did you download and activate scal for your new computer? Go to craftedge.com/support and ensure that scal2 will run on you new operating system and download and install. You will need you original serial # or the email you used when you purchased scal in the first place.

I hope this info helps you get back to cutting soon.

Thanks. That is what I thought. I have my serial number and tried to activate with it and all it says it's no the right number. I will try again, maybe I tries it too many times in a row.
Thanks again.

Bob, I read on the craftedge site that scal2 only goes up to win7. Updates were discontinued a few years ago when the cricut folks had development stopped. There are several conversations on this forum about the lawsuit if you care. I guess you will have to get a new cutter or an old computer to run the software.

sorry!

I contacted craftedge about getting a new key and have not heard anything yet. All seemed to be working fine and the extra cutting seems to be that I am not activated. I may have to find an older windows 7 laptop.
