Need Help
Re: Need Help
So I am assuming you have a digital cutter being on this site, first do you have any butterfly files? If not colouring books on the net are a good source for basic shapes, if you look at the picture you will find that it is only the wings that are cut from the paper then folded upwards.
so the easiest way to create that is to import the image into scal then use the drawing tool to trace around the edge of the wings. You can then use the node tool to ease the lines into the shape you want. I would select both outlines and combine them into one path which will make it easier to work with
Personally I tend to do all of this work in Inkscape since I find it easier then import that into scal to cut with.
The picture has several different shapes of butterfly in it though you could just use one, and then resize it to create the variety.
The other way would be to allow SCAL to trace the butterfly image the break apart the lines at the centre around the body of the butterfly but sometimes this is the more difficult option if you are not used to manipulate the files.
