Projects getting slashed
Projects getting slashed
Hello, I've been working with SCALP v3.059 on a us cutter mh 871-mk2. I recently encountered a problem where if I try to print more than 1 design or multiple of the same on the same file, it will get slashed in half and finish on the first decal cut. There are no open or random nodes, and if I print one by one it doesn't happen. Any help is extremely appreciated!
Re: Projects getting slashed
Bump
I can post my exact steps and take screenshots if you'd like, I really want to get this figured out.

Re: Projects getting slashed
Best if you go to craftedge.com. Under support there is a form to report a problem, you can also attach your file. CraftEdge does not monitor this forum very often.
If you get an answer please come back and share.

Re: Projects getting slashed
I am sorry CE has not responded to your problem. They seem to have a few problems. I do not have scalp only ecal so really doubt I would be any help. But if you want to post it here I will take a look.CgC wrote:Bump

Have you posed the problem on the US Cutt forum for scalp? Maybe someone there has "been there done that"
I hope you get it resolved.

Re: Projects getting slashed
I actually tried there first then came here. Unfortunately there seems to be a bug on their forums, I've made an account, and activated my account via the email they send. I've tried it multiple times. That's when I found these forums. Since I cannot activate my account I am unable to post, send messages, etc. I've sent an email to their website administrator and have yet to receive a reply.
Do you think the problem could be that it's more than one layer?
But then again I've printed a decal that was 20in x 20in, with multiple layers...
Could it be that something goes wrong when I transfer a different project onto the mat? Because it happens when I have two different projects on the mat that I'm trying to cut at the same time, so I can save time. It also happened when I copied and pasted 4 of the same vectors on a mat so I could cut them at the same time.
This is what my screen looks like when it happens:

It will start the bottom ones, then when its about to finish the last one on the top left it will slash across them and finish the rest on the bottom right one.

Re: Projects getting slashed
Can you attach the file?
In the meantime move the whole set away from the left and top borders edge at least 1/4 inch. Cut on paper to save your vinyl. It looks like you have 3 individual layers and one folder whats' in that other folder?

Re: Projects getting slashed
That's the original layer. I put the text over the square and did back minus front to make the text cut through the square.
Here is the file.

Re: Projects getting slashed
Good Morning, I got the file last night and played a bit with it. Remember I have ecal with eclips. I was able to open the file just fine.
I did a cut from the original without doing anything on cardstock…not vinyl. It was slow but it did cut the whole images. BUT the left hand side was too close to the edge of the mat and it didn't cut the lines down the left as I suspected from looking at it. My ecal could not see the reg marks on the top as they would be off the mat. This MIGHT be your problem with it going wonky and slicing…don't know for sure.
I moved everything over to the right about 1/4in top and left. I checked the "nodes" and there are about a gazillion. This was causing the machine to cut slowly as it has to read all of them. I did a path/simplify to reduce them.
Cutting again it cut like butter. Very fast…but. I'm guessing that you want 4 individual decals and that's not what happened. It cut as one big piece. You can see in the picture what I got. The top pic is what cut, weeded The red is my kitchen chair seat. The blue is the inside that I weeded out. I really doubt that this is what you want.
The e in life is barely connected to the f and will cause problems lifting off the image. Also the dot above the i in life is disconnedted from anything and you would have to manually add it to the decal after placement.
Here's how I would do it to get 4 individual decals. I didn't mess with the e and the dot above the i. I just wanted to see if you really did want four individual decals. I think the square around the outside outline is too narrow and will make attachment tricky as it wants to warp. Consider making that border a bit wider. You can see that the e is detached and the dot for the i is a separated piece.
I know learning this stuff is hard since there is no documentation all in one place to refer to so I hope this helps you and anyone else who sees it. If you need anything more I am around most days.
