Making 24"x10' outdoor banner

Post by nkmetal »

This is my first project. I'm using Sure Cuts A Lot Pro3 Win. I went through the tutorials, but everything was geared for small projects. I'm just putting text on the banner and will be making outdoor signs with text on them as well. Basic. I can't tell from the preview if the letters will be filled in when I print, I want them to but it doesn't show it in preview. How can I tell how big the letters will be when I print. I need 9" letters. Gah, I don't want to screw this up!

I don't use SCAL pro, but think the features are similar to SCAL3. Go to View on the menu bar. Do you have "show outlines only" checked? If so, you would see just the outline.

The properties panel should show you the size.

Thank you. I just didn't play around with the custom size under mat size, I've got that now. I still can't get the preview to show solid color on my letters, just the outline.

Did you put something on your mat so more options show up in the properties panel?

If so, look at the section that says "appearance". There is a place to add a fill color. If there is a red diagonal line through it, no color is chosen. Click on the diagonal line and choose a color. Also make sure there is not a checkmark to show outline only. You find it under the word "view" in the menu bar.

Thanks! I was making it harder than it was. Now I've got it. I'm going to cut it tonight, fingers crossed!
