Cutting Vinyl with Silhouette without a Mat

Post by southerncake »

I always use SCAL3 and my Silhouette Cameo with a mat (even when cutting vinyl), but I have an extra long cut that I need to do and need to cut without a mat.

I know I've read that when using the Silhouette software, you have to tell it that you aren't using a mat. Is this the same with SCAL3?

And I'm assuming I would use the custom mat size to change to the longer length, is that correct? What do I do if I want to cut the whole 10 feet that the Silhouette can do? The custom mat will only allow me to enter up to 72 inches.

Thanks in advance so very much!!

not seen that option, I think you just set the virtual mat to the size of the vinyl and place your design.

Thank you! Unfortunately, it won't let me enter a value longer than 72 inches on the virtual mat. I'm not sure if there's a way around that!

I think 72 inches is the limit in the standard version. I believe it's unlimited in the pro verson.

only way around that is the cut the design into 72 inch lengths/segments.
