because it's not a good idea to install a bazillion fonts on your computer & the font thing will let you view all the fonts before you use them--you can even organize them into categories, etc.

I too would like to know how to save a jpg as a svg file.
I was making a file in Inkscape and used a slice of pizza I got from culinary arts font. I was able to weld letters to it but when I cut it on SCAL there were so many little cuts that it cut all to pieces. I then typed the pizza slice and printed it then scanned & opened in photoshop. I worked on it painstakingly for about an hour and got all the little bitty cuts out of it. Then when I imported it into Inkscape again and attached the letters it would only save the letters as an svg file. Duh ! the pizza slice was a jpg.

OK I tried the Path>trace bitmap. It worked to save my pizza slice as a svg file. All I have to do now is weld my letters onto it. Thanks

Newbie question here ... how do I get a dingbat into INKSCAPE? I know how to change text fonts and type in text, but do you need to do something different for dingbat fonts? In SCA I can select on a keypad to select my shape, but I don't see a keypad on Inkscape. Is there an option for it?

I'm wanting to take a dingbat shape and put an outline around it (basically a shape within a shape) and I haven't been able to get it to work right in SCA. I thought I would try INKSCAPE so that maybe I could modify it more or trace it the way I want it to look.

Help please!

I don't see any way to import .AI and .EPS images into inkscape. Am I missing something?

I need help. I'm new to this and I was trying to make a Dora cutout card for my granddaughter. I'm stuck in Inkscape of how to bring it over into SCAL without the double lines so that I can make the background and when I try to breakapart in Inkscape there's fifty million little pieces. Is there anyway to get the pieces bigger.

Help please!!!!

I'm working on a tutorial that will explain this, but it won't be ready for a few days. It's not a quick thing to explain--although it is quick to do once you've done it a few times.
