I've used SCAL2 for a while, but only very basics. I have a new Cameo on the way, so I'm switching over to SCAL3 and this will all be done using SCAL3. I have a feeling there are videos for several of my questions, but I haven't been able to find the right ones. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great!
1. I'm printing for the first time (not print and cut -- just print). I need to place a picture, then draw a shape over it, and then exclude the picture that is not in the shape and then print it. I cannot figure out how to exclude what is outside the shape.
2. After I have my selected pic inside the shape, I need to be able to curve the entire shape (it's a wrap to go around something).
Thanks in advance for the help!!

Re: Need Help with Several Things - Shape, Print, Curve
OK for the first part (1) you would draw your shape and size it as you want.
then select the shape and over on the right, click fill dropdown (it possibly says colour) select pattern
then in the next window, click the load image tab
click browse and find your image, size it to about the size of your shape, if you leave it as default it could tile the image
click the preview button to check, adjust as needed.
once you are happy, click OK
your image is now inside (cropped to) the shape you chose.
I'm not sure how to warp something in scal, or even if you can. hopefully someone will be along soon who knows.
if we can't it may be worth requesting this in the wishlist thread for possible future upgrades

just take it a bit at a time and if you get stuck, shout
I have the latest version of scal (pro actually but for this it makes no difference)
remember to save the file often so if it goes wrong, you can go back without too much worry (or come back and play a little later)
hope someone can help with the warp (step 2)

Here is a link on how to do the wrap in Inkscape. Don't know if you have used it or not, but you might want to give it a try.

I was just thinking I'm sure inkscape does warp but then thought, maybe I'm thinking of something else.
might have to go have a play with this

Thanks everyone! So far, I haven't been able to get the Inkscape tool to work, but I'm going to keep playing with it to see if I can figure it out!
