SCAL 3 v3.039 on a Mac--Hanging up on opening

I have installed SCAL 3 v3.039 on my Mac running OSX 10.6.8. When I first start it up after installing it runs fine. After that, it hangs up when I try to open the program (either through the dock, from the Applications folder, or by opening an .scut3 file). In the little yellow window, it hangs at "Init Workspace.."

Any help? (I tried loading v3.041. It won't recognize my Silver Bullet cutter, so I reverted to 3.039, which does.)

sometimes that little screen takes a while to move on (mine hangs on loading fonts but then, just when you think it's stuck, it moves on LOL)

how long have you left it on that screen?

not sure why 3.041 won't find your bullet, it does mine, and I have 10.6.8 on my macbook pro - are you using USB or Keyspan?
when you use 3.041 you have to add the cutter(s) and then select the ports & baud rate (did not need to do that on mac before) under the cut button

I've left it up for several minutes and it hasn't moved along. When I reinstall the software, it starts up again. Not the ideal way to work...

have you dropped an email to craftedge with your problem & os & cutter, they may be able to help

so is the cutter USB or Keyspan (serial)

My eCAL 1.008 started hanging at load workspace too, fortunately it started just before 1.009 was released and have not had a problem again. I also have a Mac.

it might be worth uninstalling Scal then re-downloading it and re-install. could be the workspace has been corrupted and this will reset it.
