modifying a file in ecal

Post by Paula Anne »

Hi.
As some of you know, I have been having some problems putting designs on my champagne glasses.
One of the files (can't be posted, its a purchased file), needs modification.
So, I imported it to ecal, and I was hoping I could place a "cut" for lack of better word, in the file.
Does this make sense? Can anyone help?

Thanks.

If you are trying to just remove a bit where it bunches...lay the point of a triangle over the spot, select all and do 'back minus front'...that will put a little notch in it like in sewing...if you are familiar at all with removing puckers or easing in of material.
Then, hopefully the two sides of the notch will come together and you won't see it. Or, you can just do a cut with the pen tool for a small cut slice, but the sides would then overlap, one on top of the other and maybe would not look right.

You can also take your cursor with the node tool selected and select several nodes, and make them blue...while those are blue, grab one and drag and the several nodes should move in together. This maintains the shape in the area, just moves it in a bit more narrow.
My pictures and files are available for a limited time only.

So, I have dubbed you the ecal, eclips guru! You know so much.
Once again, thank you for your help.
I'm going to give it a shot now!

Have a good one!
