Problem printing with machine
Problem printing with machine
I have an eclips machine with ecal 1.003 running on a win vista machine meeting all specs. My problem is this: my machine refuses to print the letter "S" from the initial font window. When it prints, it prints only about 1/2 of the letter, after doing that, the machine's eject light goes out and the cutter returns to the craddle and ejects the paper and then continues to print. I have checked the blade cutter housing and cleaned it, and for all obstructions in the machine (nothing there). Any ideas?

Re: Problem printing with machine
Are you "printing" using the print to cut or are you "cutting"?
Have you tried any other fonts?
Are you able to cut any other images?
Have you tried to cut with just the cartridge they send you and not eCal?

Re: Problem printing with machine
Sorry for the miscommunication.
I meant cutting.
As for your other questions:
1. Have you tried other fonts?
no
2. Are you able to cut any other images
yes
3. Have you tried to cut with just the cartridhe they send you and not eCal?
no
After speaking with my wife further about this issue, it appears to be not cutting from the right side of the paper. It starts to cut images on the left side of the paper fine, but when it gets to the right side of the paper it cuts a portion of the design and then stops with what appears to be a 1" to 1 1/2 " margin on the right side of the mat all the way down and ejects the mat. After it ejects the mat, the machine will continue to cut, damaging the machine if it isn't cancelled on the computer.

Re: Problem printing with machine
I posted a response, but it didn't show up, here is the response plus an update!
To answer your questions:
1. Are you "printing" using the print to cut or are you "cutting"?
Cutting
2. Have you tried any other fonts?
No
3. Are you able to cut any other images?
Yes, partially.
4. Have you tried to cut with just the cartridge they send you and not eCal?
No
The machine would cut from left to right on the paper. It would cut everything on the left side of the paper fine, but it would only partially cut the objects on the right. After it stopped cutting the images on the right, it would spit out the paper, and then continue to cut on the machine itself (if it wasn't stopped on the computer).
Update:
I changed the material size under the cutter tab and all is well. Now I just need to remember to put the paper on the opposite side of the mat before starting.

Your post didn't show up right away because you are new and the moderators have to approve the posts a few times. After that your posts will show up right away. This was put in place to help control some of the spam that was getting into the board.
So it sounds like you solved your problem? The paper size was throwing off the software? That's great if it is solved!

Don't know if the problem is solved, but a work around has been found

Re: Problem printing with machine
What did you have your paper size set to originally? I am curious because if the paper was 8 1/2 x 11, you would see the paper size on the mat. The mat would be 12 x 12 or 12 x 24. They are the only choices. Still seems a little strange that it would cut half the letter and eject.

I believe it was originally 12 x 12, but I am not sure. When I changed it to 8 1/2 x 11, the new shade box showed up, moved all items into the box, and PRESTO! it works.... for now.sstehman wrote:What did you have your paper size set to originally? Re: Problem printing with machine
I started a new topic. It was working beautifully the past 2 weeks and now it is doing it all over again! Images I was cutting the last 2 weeks are all of a sudden NOT cutting right again. I am about to give up!
