I don't believe it will because the Cricut Create uses the 1.3 firmware version and at this time, SCAL will not work with that version.

oh darn it !! :(
Thank you so much for replying :D

okay, another question, if I have the design studio on my regular EXPRESSION machine, can I take it off to use the SCAL?
I am sooo new to this, sorry if this is a silly question or one that has been asked a million times

heeeelp!---I was so excited to purchase the SCAL, but now I am worried I can't use it on either of my machines --boo hoo hoo
I am glad I asked first! :o

Thanks again!!

SCAL will only work on a Cricut machine that has firmware version 1.1 (Baby) or 1.2 (E). The software you are using determines the firmware version. If you have the Cricut Create, you can use the latest update on the software. If you want to use the E with SCAL, you will have to have two version of DSS on your computer. You will need the older version of DSS to update the firmware to 1.2 on the E. In order to have two versions of the software on one computer, install each version in its own directory.

i think i asked the question wrong and now have myself confused---I am very new to this--

so here is my question: I updated my firmware on my E, now when I turn it on it says Cricut V.2.3
I want to take it back to where it was when it came out of the box---I think it was 2.1

is it possible?

You will have to install the old version of the software ( http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1970 is the link to download it...use the driveway link as that is the only one still available) and then do a firmware update from the old version.

If I do a firmware backdate, will I be able to see my new carts on the DS page?

The recommendation is to have both versions of the software installed on the computer, in two separate directories, of course. The new version for DSS which will have your carts and the older version for SCAL. You have to do firmware updates according to the version you are using.
