My CD requested for a firmware update. Is it save to do? Will SCAL still work after the firmware update?
I would love to use both.

I am so glad that SCAL 2.0 recognized the multi layered SVG files! There is only always something to wish..... as I named all my layers, it would be very helpfull if SCAL would import the name of the layers as well.

Thanks everybody for replying. I am going to download the trail during the weekend to give it a full try. As I can have both, I am only curious now what I can do with it.

I totaly agree.
But I was not sure if I could have both versions on my PC.
I don't want my current version to change to trail mode because of this.
But as you have both, I am going to doanload the trail of 2.0 to give it a try.

It sounds if you are still working in the trailmode. Did you purchase a liense and key in the code in SCAL?

I have a few more things to add to this comment. When your file is empty after openening in SCAL do the following: 1. Open your file in Inkskape. 2. Select all (Ctrl = A) and zoom out till you see all the selection arrows. 3. Delete some unexpected things that shows up out of the design. 4. If nothi...

You need to update the firmware of your Cricut via Designstudio to have SCAL working.
I work with Vista and that works fine with me.
