Thanks Todd - When the cut dialogue box appears it doesn't say expression or anything, but checking mat etc.
I think I have an early version of SCAL.
I have never had a problem with it before.

I have exactly the same problem with the mats that I have re-glued. I got a huge fright when my cricut started freezing half way through a cut. It had never done that before. I discovered it was the balls of glue, causing the the blade to stop. A new mat fixed it but I don't want to have to buy new ...
