Craft Edge

I have been using word art in microsoft word to create curved text. Then you have to save the document as a webpage, which creates a folder with a .gif of the word art. I then trace the gif in inkscape and save it as an svg. It takes a little bit of work, but works great for curved text.

Store them anywhere but your desktop. I was told by an IT guy that the more stuff on your desktop, the slower your computer will run. Create a new folder in the My Documents folder and store all of your large files there instead.
